925. In Curaçao Rain Delays are Patriotic

We wait for rain showers to subside before leaving the house, even if we’re running  little late… (let’s face it, we probably are!)

Wet hair? No way.

There’s always a traffic jam or accident when it rains… so if you’re running late to a meeting, just cancel and try again tomorrow!

“Awa seru ta kai!” (literally: rain is falling from the mountains) is still a perfectly valid excuse for being up to 30 mins late to work and school. And don’t you dare be on time… You’ll just ruin it for the rest of us!
