837. Stand Up Paddle Boarding

“Wind Addicts.” Photo by Marius van Noort.

Dynamic duo Hilde Tuinbeek and Ingmar Schnitzler manage SUP and Windsurfing Curaçao  (Caracasbay Island, Spanish Waters) to perfection.

Ingmar and their baby girl.

They’re open daily and stocked with brand-new windsurfing and stand up paddle boarding gear for all ages and levels of expertise.

They staff friendly and patient teachers… All awesome, thoughtful and caring… Just what the clumsy need to build confidence and stand up!

My sister-friend, Gidi Winkel (Edery?) recently got hitched in Curaçao and us girls spent part of her bachelorette party attempting to walk on (Spanish) water…

… virgin ehhh paddle boarders we got the hang of it pretty quickly… and felt it in our arms, core, and legs soon thereafter!

Much laughter ensued every time one of us would wipe out in a big-ish wave…  Isn’t that what good friends are for?!

If we can do it, you can too!

Next time, we’re going to try paddle-boarding in Santa Cruz and Westpunt!
