649. Travel Vlogger Mickela Mallozzi Dances her way through Curaçao!

The New York Times has recently included Mickela Mallozzi (31) as one of its featured Niche Travel Bloggers as part of the Travel Blogging Today: It’s Complicated story by Dan Saltzstein (July 28, 2013). Don’t miss Mickela’s blog, Bare Feet (Experiencing the world, one dance at a time.)

“When I would travel I would always find local festivals or holidays where people were making music and dancing together. And whether I could speak their language or not, I was communicating with them. Immediately you are doing such a personal interaction — touching them, sweating with them, having fun. I got this high from it, and I wanted to do it over and over again. We shot our first video at a festival in my family’s hometown in southern Italy. Wherever I go, I can pick up any dance and get the basics. And doors just open up — literally. Everyone says, ‘Well, I’m not a dancer.’ But you don’t have to be one, as long as you are willing to try something different. Everyone wants that authentic travel experience — this is as authentic as you get.” – Mickela Mallozzi
