“Ieder kind een kerstcadeau” (a Christmas gift for every child) is a Christmas gift drive organized by popular local Dutch radio station and magazine Dolfijn FM. Anyone can donate gifts between December 6 – 21 [price range NAf 10 – 15 ($6 – $9) pp]; Dolfijn FM collects – several volunteers sort (by age and gender) – then distribute gifts to children in orphanages, public nurseries, and other local foundations where they would otherwise not receive Christmas gifts.
Dolfijn FM has partnered with Top1Toys, Bruna, DA, de Albert Heijn; all 4 local businesses have agreed to donate 1 gift for every 10 “Ieder kind een kerstcadeau” bought.
2012 marks “Ieder kind een kerstcadeau”s 7th year. Most years they collect well over 5,000 gifts from corporate donations as well as individuals… that means at least 5,000 bright smiles on Christmas day!!!
